Maple&Walnut Brickwork End Grain Butcher Block
Pulling inspiration from the Brownstones of Brooklyn, we accentuated our regular brickwork pattern to our end grain boards by adding mortar to the mix. Additionally, these boards are reinforced with several biscuit joints. While a perfectly flat surface is usually more than enough to suffice for a strong glue joint, I was concerned about how thin horizontal strips would hold up. I wanted a biscuit to adhere two thick rows and the thin rows together, thus ensuring its structural strength.
This piece approximately measures 12x18x2 and features maple and walnut.
